Michael Jack

President and General Manager, NBC New York

Michael Jack is the President and General Manager of NBC 4 New York, NBC’s flagship station that encompasses a unique content center that produces news and information on multiple media platforms.  In this role, Jack is responsible for the broadcast television station in addition to the around-the-clock digital television channel, NY Nonstop, as well as the management of the local website and additional platforms, including taxis, PATH trains and other out-of-home venues that distribute content from NBC 4 New York.


Before joining NBC 4 New York in 2010, Jack was President and General Manager of WRC-TV, NBC’s owned station in Washington, D.C. from 2002-2010.  Previously, Jack served as President and General Manager of WCMH-TV, the NBC affiliate in Columbus that was formerly owned by NBC, where he was responsible for the overall management of the station.  Jack also served as Vice President of Sales for KNBC in Los Angeles where he oversaw the sales department, including all local and national sales, sales administration, customer service, traffic and operations.


Jack joined NBC in 1996 after 19 years at Capital Cities/ABC-TV, where he served in multiple management and account executive roles.  He was Sales Manager of Capital Cities’ National Sales office in Los Angeles from 1986 until early 1996.  Before moving to Los Angeles, Jack held the positions first of National, then Local Sales Manager, at KGO-TV in San Francisco for five years starting in 1981.  Earlier in his career, he was an Account Executive for ABC Spot Sales in Chicago and began his career in sales with WABC-TV in New York.


Jack currently serves as the Division Leader of the NBCUniversal Corporate Diversity Council.  He is on the Board of Directors of the New York Urban League, the Committee for Hispanic Children and Families Corporate Advisory Board and 100 Black Men of NewYork.


Jack graduated from Haverford College in Pennsylvania with a B.A. in political science.  He resides in New York with his wife, Mary, and daughter, Truce.
